More Info
Our Pork Chops are portioned in-house and available in 500g or 1kg packs. As the chops are individually cut, their exact number, thickness, shape and weight may vary slightly between packs.
Thicker chops require more time to cook than thinly cut portions. Adjust your cooking method accordingly and avoid excessively high heat, which can dry out the outside before the centre is cooked.
Our Pork Chops are imported frozen and handled under carefully controlled cold-chain conditions. You have the choice whether you would like this product supplied frozen or professionally defrosted under refrigeration. Defrosting requires advance notice and may affect the earliest available collection or delivery date.
Cooking Tips
- Pan-frying: Sear in a hot pan until golden, then reduce the heat and continue cooking until done.
- Grilling or braaiing: Cook over medium-high heat, turning when required. Move thicker chops to gentler heat to finish cooking.
- Oven cooking: Brown the chops first if preferred, then finish them in the oven with herbs, vegetables or sauce.
- Marinating: Pork works well with mustard, garlic, rosemary, thyme, paprika, honey, apple and citrus.
- Resting: Allow the chops to rest briefly before serving.
- Serving suggestion: Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, apple sauce, mustard sauce, coleslaw or salad.
Avoid overcooking, as pork chops can become dry when left over the heat for too long.
Storage
Keep frozen until required and defrost thoroughly in the refrigerator before cooking.
If supplied defrosted at your request, keep refrigerated, use within the period advised on the packaging and preferably don't refreeze while still raw.
