We have a custom-built, full-capacity drying room to hang and dry biltong in-house. All products are prepared and dried on-site, ensuring freshness, flavor, and consistency. Our process allows small batch and custom orders, perfect for events or gift packs.

Best Ways to Store Your Biltong & Drywors

  • Keep biltong and drywors dry and cool, away from direct sunlight.
  • Short-term storage: Airtight container at room temperature, 2–3 weeks for fully dried biltong.
  • Long-term storage: Refrigerate or freeze thicker cuts for extended freshness.
  • Snapsticks and chilli bites (pre-packaged) can remain at room temperature if unopened.
  • Avoid moisture to prevent spoilage or uneven drying.
  • If you’re traveling with your biltong, we can also vacuum-pack for you.

What types of biltong and drywors do you sell?

We sell beef biltong, venison biltong, beef snapsticks, chilli bites, and drywors. Most are sold per piece or small packs, depending on the product.

How do I choose my biltong?

Online you can choose your biltong type and whether or not you want it sliced or whole. If you want to pick personally, visit our biltong cabinet in-store and pick the pieces you want. Our staff can slice to your desired thickness for you.

Is your biltong processed in-house?

Yes. All biltong and drywors are prepared in-house and hung to dry in our custom-built drying room for full quality control.

Do you sell pre-packaged biltong by weight?

Of course, if you're ordering online you choose your biltong by pre-selected weight options. In-store only snapsticks and chilli bites are pre-packaged in varying weights. Other biltong and drywors are sold per piece from the cabinet.

How should I store my biltong to keep it fresh?

Keep it dry and cool, away from sunlight. Short-term: airtight container at room temperature (2–3 weeks). Long-term: refrigerate or freeze. Pre-packaged snapsticks or chilli bites can remain at room temperature if unopened. Dryer Climates can keep their biltong in the recyclable kraft paper bags & kept in a cool dry place like a cupboard. Humid Climates should keep their biltong in the recyclable kraft paper bags & kept in a fridge. Extended Storage Periods of up to 3-months; the biltong can be stored & frozen within a plastic bag in the freezer. Biltong can then be taken out the freezer and within 1-hour of thawing - it should usually be ready to be eaten at a preferred temperature again.

Can I order gluten-free biltong?

Yes! We can custom-make batches of gluten-free biltong using simple seasoning without any gluten-containing spice mixes.

Is your Biltong Halaal Certified?

Although our meat suppliers are Halaal certified, our facilities are not yet Halaal Certified.
