Our Topside Lean Mince is prepared from fresh South African A-Grade beef with minimal fat. Its lean composition and coarser texture make it a dependable choice for everyday cooking, from pasta sauces and cottage pie to meatballs and savoury mince.
Because the beef is fresh and has never previously been frozen, there is less excess water released during cooking and no unnecessary oily residue.

Topside is a naturally lean cut taken from the hindquarter of the animal. By using quality topside rather than relying on fatty trimmings, we produce a cleaner, firmer mince with a rich beef character.
The mince is prepared with enough texture to hold up well during cooking without becoming overly fine or pasty. And because it has not been previously frozen, it does not release excess water during cooking.
